Judith Liebetrau received her Dipl.-Ing. degree in Media Technology at Technische Universität Ilmenau in 2006. Her main research focus was put on audiovisual technologies. After graduating from university, Judith has been working as a researcher at Fraunhofer IDMT. Initially, her work focused on spatial audio reproduction, psychoacoustics, and the measurement and evaluation of audio quality, sounds, and noise. By taking over the business unit Industrial Media Applications in 2017, audio signal analysis based on machine learning methods became her main field of research. In this context, Judith has been pushing forward various research projects on the topic of acoustic monitoring. She and her research team are developing AI-based methods for acoustic monitoring in the context of industrial quality assurance, predictive maintenance applications, and environmental noise analysis.
