Jakob Abeßer is working on the EU research project BioMonitor4CAP together with the DLG and many other partners to develop a modern biodiversity monitoring system for agriculture.

But how do Music Information Retrieval and biodiversity monitoring fit together? In this episode, Jakob explains why methods from semantic music analysis are also effective for AI-based detection of bird songs and insect sounds. He also demonstrates how AI can dive deep into audio recordings and analyze sounds that remain hidden from the human ear.
