In Hall 3 at Booth 3B60, researchers from the Fraunhofer IDMT in Oldenburg will be presenting their solutions for the education sector.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT is presenting two innovative, AI-based software solutions for the education sector at the didacta fair in Stuttgart.
The VoiceTracker solution focuses on the voice health of teachers. The innovative research tool for people in media, InsightPersona, opens up new ways for digital media literacy.
A well-functioning voice is an essential prerequisite for teachers in their daily work. With VoiceTracker, the Fraunhofer IDMT is working on a solution that offers teachers preventive support for the health of their voice. The software analyzes voice quality in real time and detects potential voice problems at an early stage.
“Early detection and preventive measures are at the heart of the future solution. Teachers receive feedback on their voice quality from our software. This can be used to derive recommendations on how they can specifically protect and care for their voices”, explains Alina Ernst, project manager in the Assistive Speech and Language Analysis group.
The reseachers would like to meet software providers who aim to offer voice health monitoring tools. In addition, the Fraunhofer IDMT will be addressing interested teachers, who can provide important input for further development with their feedback. Associations, authorities and organizations with a care mandate such as ministries of education, health insurance companies and subsidy offices can find out about the future of voice health to support teachers and reduce voice-related absences.
The interactive research tool InsightPersona takes media literacy in political education to the next level. The AI-based software identifies faces and voices in large media archives in seconds and creates a transcript. The results of the audiovisual recognition of people and their appearance can be used for further analysis in an intuitively designed dashboard. With the help of a chatbot or a semantic search, users are able to use the analyzed archive for their research purposes. In this way, large volumes of data can be made available quickly and intuitively.
“Our technology combines facial recognition and voice data, making it easier to recognize and find people in different databases”, emphasizes Christian Rollwage, Head of the Audio Signal Enhancement Group at Fraunhofer IDMT.
At the didacta education fair, interested teachers, as well as those working in political education, journalists, software providers and publishers, can test the tool on site and learn about its application. Researchers from the Oldenburg Branch for Hearing, Speech and Audio Technology HSA will be presenting the solution at their booth 3B60 in Hall 3.
